Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses

Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.

Ubandawaki Ward Youths speaks on recent retrieval of Appointment by Kwara Gov't.

Ubandawaki ward youths speaks on the recent retrieval of appointment by Kwara state Government from the ward, in an opinion post made available to Satcommedia, by Saleeman Muslim and Sultan Alaya,
The post reads in part "Silence they say speaks a thousand words and a silent one is not a fool or a coward.

To speak a few of the darkness, I feel it is high time we called on the Governor and other concerned stakeholders to retrace a derailing step by bringing back to rail the great Ubandawaki Ward.

As a matter of fact, UBANDAWAKI APC stood and still stands firmly for progress and leaving her to wander the corridors of power will be quite demeaning despite her roles in the liberation struggles.

Delving into the political history of the ward, the last political order compensated her with series of appointments ranging from Secretary to the State Government, ministerial appointments, Special Advisers, Commissioners, membership and chairmanship of agency boards, Governing council membership, LGEA speakership and many more.

The ward in a bid to bringing about more growths and developments sacrificed all the afore listed in order to join the people's clamour for change -the 'Otoge Mantra'.

It should be emphasized that the people of Ubandawaki ward are not dependent on politics to feed rather they are more concerned about bringing the dividends of a widely embraced democratic government closer to her people.

The recent retrieval of the only appointment in the ward (The LGEA Secretary) is another point of concern as that was the only existing appointment made from the ward.

We appeal to the government to see to our clamour and appoint well qualified candidate(s) to befitting position(s) from the great Ubandawaki ward as that will not only compensate the toils of the people of the ward but will further strengthen the ties between the people and the government."

May AA succeed (Ameen)
