Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.

The Honorable member representing Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly and the Chairman, House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Abdulganiyu S. Cook Olododo has expressed his heartfelt felicitation to the erudite scholar and seasoned diplomat, Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari (CFR) on his well deserved appointment as the Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In his congratulatory message, Hon. Cook Olododo described the appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Gambari as a round peg in a round hole considering his brilliant and notably precedence of international repute, Professor Gambari. a man with illustrious careers spanning academic, government and international diplomacy, including, Director-General of the Nigeria Institute of international affairs, Ambassador/ Permanent  Representative of Nigeria to the United Nations, President of security council, chaired, the United Nations special committee on peacekeeping operation as well as Publication of many articles in both National and international scholarly journal, beyond doubt, his distinguished diplomatic and scholarly career are positioning him to provide exemplary leadership and justice to his new national assignments.

 He noted that having served in various capacities both home and abroad  with the Encyclopedic of experience garnered over the years, Professor Ibrahim Gambari possesses the intellectual and administrative wherewithal to effectively discharge functions of the exalted office of the Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He further noted that the new chief of Staff  Prof. Ibrahim Gambari is a household name in Nigeria and the international community not only as matter of his  royal blood of the well respected Ilorin Emirate but also his self- actualised of that enviable niche and reputation he has carved out for himself over the decades. Hon. Cook Olododo also extends his  congratulatory message to the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Zulu Gambari (CFR) and the good people of Kwara State for the honour that comes with the appointment of Prof. Gambari as President Buhari's Chief of Staff.

Meanwhile, Hon. Cook Olododo has acknowledged Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari for making an excellent choice based on expertise, extensive experience and resourcefully finding Prof. Gambari, a kwaran worthy of appointment as his Chief of Staff. He beseeches for Allah's protection and guidance over Prof. Gambari as he assumes office as Mr. President's Chief of Staff.
