Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.
The Former Assistant Director News and Current Affairs ,Nigerian Television Authority, Zonal Headquarters Channel 2 Victoria Island, Lagos, Prince Mohammad Abdulkadir has been appointed Special Assistant (Media/Publicity) to the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd).
His appointment letter, which was personally signed by the Minister was dated seventeenth ,March 2020.
The new appointee, Pronce Mohammad Abdulkadir who had since assumed duties hails from Ilorin in Magaji Are ward one in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Prince Abdulkadir is a foremost trained journalist at home and in Diaspora having trained in all the Military Institutions in the country including the National Security Training at Defence Intelligence School anchored
Management Institute Israel. Nominee of the Nigerian US Embassy to Garmish, Germany for the United States Africa Command Public Affairs and Media Symposiums, where he emerged as the first elected Leader, African Defence and Security Journalists Association. Other specialised training where the newly appointed Special Assistant excelled include, Protection of war Correspondents in Conflict Zones in Kilkis Greece by the Multinational Peace Support Training Centre.
