Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.
Kwara state House of Assembly member elect representing Patigi Constituency, Hon. Adam Ahmed Rufai has sympathized with the people of Patigi Emirate, family, friends and associates of Mr. James Kolo, Kwara state FCC Commissioner designate, whose death came as a shock yesterday.
Hon. Adam Rufai described his death as a painful loss to his family, friends, patigi and Kwara at large.
"His death is a painful death, just some weeks ago he was announced as the commissioner to represent Kwara at the Federal Character Commission, we are all very happy but today we are mourning his death"
Hon. Adam Rufai described Mr. James Kolo as a loyal party man, committed to the progress and development of Patigi and Kwara State at large. "We lost him at a tme his expertise and wealth of experience is needed the National level"
Hon. Adam Ahmed Rufai prayed to God to grant him eternal rest and also pray that God should grant the people of Patigi and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
