Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses

Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.

EID-EL-FITR: PDP LG. Aspirant Basheer Adetunbi felicitates with Muslims

All gratitude is to Allah, Lord of all creation, and peace and blessings on the noble Prophet, his family and Companions.

I offer my cordial felicitations to Muslims in Kwara state and worldwide on the arrival of Eid-ul-Fitr, following the completion of the blessed month of Ramadan – the month of fasting, worship, good deeds, and perfected sincere action; I ask Allah, the Almighty, to accept from all of us, our fasting and good deeds.

This year Eid arrives at a time of global challenge where covi19 is ravaging the country & the  whole world at large 1441AH/2020 Ramadan will be unforgettable because it denied us the opportunity to observe iftar together, taraweeh together & also Ummrah was also suspended due to the deadly pandemic. Eid suppose to be a season of happiness, family bonding, and bridging the gap between generations; it is the event that crowns Ramadan, which represents a profound school for building faith and piety, and nurturing mutual compassion, solidarity, and support for the less fortunate; values of which we, our societies, and wider humanity are in great need of.

Eid is also an opportunity to demonstrate solidarity. This year’s Eid comes at a moment when the Muslim Ummah is suffering difficult times; with many crises and open wounds. Indeed,  Eid arrives as we witness a hideous banditry onslaught on fellow Muslim Ummahs in Katsina & Sokoto States with Borno  bombarded round the clock with tonnes of explosive ordnance, and the number of those killed & displaced approaches a worrisome figure In this Eid, we renew our solidarity with fellow ummahs  at this precarious moment, and reiterate our support for their legitimate rights.

I also take this opportunity to salute the intense efforts of Emir of ilorin Al-Sheik (DR). Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, other traditional rulers, imams, ulamas, Scholars and Islamic centre administrations across state and the country at large as they worked to revive the rituals throughout the month of Ramadan, and serve their local communities. On this occasion, we urge Islamic and social organisations to continue improving their work, and to shoulder the responsibility towards Muslims and society in the best possible way. I also implore Kwarans to imbibe with the taught of Ramadan, also pray for the Government and also show some love to the less privileges most especially the private schools teachers who were unable to get a dime in the last two months from the employers

May Allah accept from all of us our good deeds, and may each year pass where we are in the most favourable of conditions.

Taqabbala Allahu minna wa minkum." (تقبل الله منا ومنكم) ("May Allah accept from us, and from you.")
Eid Mubaraq
