Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.
The Kwara State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Hon. Aisha Ahman Pategi has charged Muslim faithfuls to embrace peace to ensure peaceful coexistence among themselves.
The Honorable Commissioner stated this while congratulating Muslims on this year's Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
She also congratulated Muslims for witnessing the end of this year's Ramadan and urged them to continue with the good virtues and the lessons they learnt during the holy month.
She urged Nigerians to continue to be peaceful and stay safe, especially during this period of Covid-19 pandemic, stressing that Muslims should endeavor to follow the guidelines set by the Government and other relevant agencies during the festival.
While praying to God to grant us peace and tranquillity in Kwara and Nigeria at large, Hon. Pategi called on the good people of Kwara State to continue to pray for the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to be able to deliver on his campaign promises.
"Once again I congratulate all the Muslim faithfuls across the world on this year's Eid-el-Fitr celebration. I pray that Almighty Allah grants us many more years to celebrate the occasion," she added.
