Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.
AbdulRazaq commissions vehicles for Primary Healthcare in Kwara
The Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq today commissioned Hilux vehicles procured for the State Emergency Immunization Coordination Center (SERICC) under the Kwara State Primary Health Care(PHC).
The Governor who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Razaq emphasized on the readiness of the state government to improve the Healthcare service delivery in the state through effective and efficient service delivery at PHC level across the state.
He said the new vehicles will be used for monitoring exercise and other official activities in the health sector.
He further stated that renovation of 37 Primary Health Care Centers with two facilities in each local government of the state is ongoing as this will improve Primary Healthcare especially in rural communities in line with the global campaign for efficient and affordable health care services.
Also Speaking, the Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Abimbola Patience Folorunso appreciates the State Government for its unrelenting efforts to redefine the history of Routine Immunization in the State to a positive one.
"The high level of commitment in the Health sector by the current administration has never been witnessed in Kwara State for long and it is commendable to know that our Routine Immunization is getting the expected response from the State Government ''.
In his closing remark, the Program Manager, SERICC, Dr. Michael Oguntoye said the government has exceeded the expectations of the management and we are committed to improving the standard of Routine Immunization across the State.
He said it is a thing of joy and we will not fail the system to achieve the desired results.
