Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.

Muslims faithfuls have been charged to embrace the spirits of love, peace and sacrifice during the Ramadan period and take absolute precautions as the world is currently ravaged with the novel coronavirus pandemic which has rendered many died and impaired socio-economic growths of countries and continents.

A former Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulwahab Oladimeji Issa made the disclosure in a statement signed by his Media Office, where he felicitated with Muslims across the world on the beautiful occasions of this year’s Ramadan.

He appealed to Nigerians to take maximum advantages of the sacred month by being more dutiful, prayerful, generous and empathetic in their sacrificial services to Almighty Allah, stressing that helping the poor and needy during this trying time is a social and collective responsibility of everyone which attracted lots of benefits.

On COVID-19, Hon Issa enjoined Nigerians to take all necessary precautions, observe social distancing, prioritise hand and respiratory hygienes, always stay at home, avoid contact with patient(s) or anyone showing symptoms and be cooperative with health and security authorities in the quest of containing and taming the spread of the dreadful virus.

“It is my prayer to Almighty Allah to make this fasting period a means attaining the highest level of spiritual upliftment, growth in good deeds and moral standard, wealth and sustenance, forgiveness of sins and acceptance of repentance, pleasure of Allah and eventual admission into al-Jannah Firdaus”

He therefore commended doctors, nurses and other health workers across the country for their proactiveness, sacrifices and commitments in saving lives and ensuring the health safety of every Nigerian.
