Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.
APC Ward Chairmen pass Vote of Confidence on Governor AbdulRasaq, in a press statement made available to SatcomMedia signed by Mr Habeeb Lawal, the Chairman of the forum
The statement read "With the level of positive changes that have been experienced in the state over a short period of time since the coming in of the present administration led by Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq in Kwara State, the forum of the 193 APC ward Chairmen in the state has described Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq as a leader with focus whose leadership style is worthy of emulation at all times.
Chairman of the forum, Comrade Habib Lawal made this known in a statement issued in Ilorin during assessment exercise of the present government in the state.
He described Gov AA as a unique administrator who has scored high in achieving greatly over a short period of time.
"Roads construction and rehabilitation across the state, good health care services, adequate and timely payment of civil servant salaries, provision of potable water and payment of counterpart funds among others are the laudable achievements of this administration so far, and we beseech the state governor not to relent in discharging his duties to the latter."
The forum which further stated their unflinching support for the state Governor passed a vote of confidence in the Governor.
"Unanimously, the Kwara APC ward Chairmen forum passes a vote of confidence in the Governor and his leadership style, as we urge him to remain focus and never allow any distractions to hamper him from building on his good works," the statement read.
The Forum then called on stakeholders and Kwarans across all boards to support the state government in achieving the dividends of democracy and for the betterment of Kwara state."
