Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses - community cries out, call for government assistance. Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable. The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas. Though no lives were lost in the incident. An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters. He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.

COVID-19: Kaduna, Benue joined list of States in the Confirmed cases as Nigeria hits 97.

As at 10:40 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2020, Nigeria has recorded 97 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with a total of 16 new cases enrolled. Out of the 97 confirmed cases, Lagos State tops the list with 59 followed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, with 16. Of the sixteen (16) new cases reported by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), two are in FCT, seven are in Lagos, one in Kaduna and one in Osun. Benue State joined the list of states in the country with confirmed cases with one patient while Oyo State increased her number with additional four patients. “Till date, ninety-seven (97) cases have been confirmed, three cases have been discharged and one death from COVID-19 recorded in Nigeria. “All new cases have mild to moderate symptoms and are currently receiving care. “A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” NCDC stated on its website.

COVID-19: Bauchi Governor tests Positive for Coronavirus

Bala Mohammed, governor of Bauchi state, has tested positive for coronavirus. The governor had gone into self-isolation after shaking hands with a son of Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, who also tested positive for the virus. In a statement on Tuesday, Mukhtar Gidado, senior special assistant to the governor on media, said Mohammed is currently under quarantine. “This is to inform the general public that the result of the Six initial tests carried out by the Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) on His Excellency, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, his family and aides that accompanied him to Lagos is out. BREAKING: Abba Kyari confirmed Positive of Coronavirus; Buhari tests Negative.

According to a report by ThisDay, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has tested negative for the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus), following a test for the disease that was carried out yesterday on the president by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) However, Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, who has been seriously ill, has tested positive to the virus. The NCDC has informed the president on the outcome his negative result this morning in Abuja. Kyari had travelled to Germany on Saturday, March 7th to meet with officials of Siemens in Munich on the Nigerian electricity expansion programme. BREAKING: Coronavirus Cases hits 22, FG Shuts Lagos, Abuja Airports Monday.

The Federal Government says the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos; and the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja will be shut effective Monday, March 23, Nigeria’s cases of the ravaging coronavirus pandemic increased geometrically from 12 to 22 on Saturday. The Lagos and Abuja airports are the two major entry points into Nigeria. In a statement signed by the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Capt. Musa Nuhu, the closure of international flight operations at the Lagos and Abuja airports are in addition to the three other international airports in Kano, Enugu and Port Harcourt shut for flight operations on Saturday. One of the daughters of President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in self-isolation over coronavirus. Aisha Buhari, the first lady, who disclosed this in a series of tweets, said although her daughter did not show any symptoms of the virus, she went into self-isolation after returning from the UK. CONVID-19: NYSC Shutdown Orientation Camp Nationwide

The Federal Government has ordered the immediate closure of the ongoing National Youth Corps Service camps nationwide over coronavirus fears. The 2020 Batch A Stream One NYSC members arrived on camp on March 4 and are expected to leave on March 29. But the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, on Wednesday, said the NYSC members would be released to resume at their places of primary assignment. He tweeted that the closure was a precautionary measure on coronavirus. “Today across the country, the NYSC Orientation camps will be closed and Youth Corpers will be paid and sent to their places of primary assignment. “This again is a precautionary measure on the part of the government to check the spread of COVID-19. APC Candidate declared winner of Patigi Bye-Election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Patigi state constituency bye-election in Kwara State, Adam Ahmed Rufai, has been declared the winner. A dispatch rider on the convoy of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), Inspector Ali Gomina, died in an auto accident on Friday. Court orders DSS DG,IGP to release Sanusi from detention

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday ordered the release of the dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, from detention in Awe, a town in Nasarawa State, where he was banished to following his dethronement on Monday. Justice Anwuli Chikere granted the interim order following an ex parte application moved by his lead counsel, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) on Friday. The judge also ordered that the order for the release of the deposed monarch should be served on the respondents to the application. The respondents to the application are, the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu; the Director-General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Bichi; the Attorney-General of Kano State, Ibrahim Muktar, and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN). The judge fixed March 26 for further hearing in the case.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday handed over a 5000-litre capacity fire fighting truck to the state fire service, a few months after the administration gave two ultra modern skytick fire service technology to the service. Osun State Government reverses all Aregbesola's Education Policies.

Osun State government on Monday reversed almost all the educational policies introduced by the immediate past governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola by adopting the recommendations of the education committee constituted by the incumbent governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.
