Education: Collapsed of the only Community School in Oke Ogun ward of Ilorin South LG, Community Forum decries Government Negligence

The growth of an academic institution lies solely on the amount of investment levied on it by the Federal, State and even private sectors. This investment is needed in order to provide easy accessibility of younger generations to education and thereby making knowledge acquisition possible against all odds. Meanwhile, The case of Shubanul Islam LGEA School Oke-Ogun in Ilorin South Local Government Area,Kwara State has been quite alarming due to lack of foresight and unskilled management strategy. Since the inception of the academic institution in the year 2003, it has then suffer unbearable negligence which has constituted an overbearing influence on academic activities in the school. The school is located in the milieu of Oke Ogun Ward, right behind the popular Aisha Adepate House Edun Street,Ilorin.
However, the school was built to meet up the expectations of the populace in the Ward, a considerable amount of those who might not be able to enrol their kids in schools where huge amount of tuition fee is paid. The establishment of the citadel of learning serves as a panacea to drop out, street hawking and child labour which has dominated the society. To an agreeable terms, the core value of its establishment has been productive
However, the ceremony of providing sustainable education take a twist in 2016 when a heavy pour triggers collapse of some parts of the classrooms. Since then and now, parents who benefits from the school decries the Kwara State Government negligence as they they fail to come to their aid despite the strata of Oke Ogun Ward political hegemony in the state. In 2019, the case got worsen and the picture below carries weight
However, The Coalition of Oke Ogun Progressive Forum (OPF) took the task of seeking help from Sons and Daughters of the Oke Ogun Ward both home and diaspora to facilitate the renovation of the school. To them therefore, the renovation will not only provide a lasting solution to pupils truancy but hence it will help to reassure the populace of this Ward that they are not alone. In a statement issued by Mr. AbduKadir Abubakar, a member of the association,
This condition is sad not only for humanity, the future of our education but more for the strategic position Oke Ogun Ward is placed in Ilorin South LGA.
It behooves on men of genuine conscience to come together to put this behind us. Why not casting aspersion on our human assets. I think the time to #Save the soul of this school- being the only one in Oke Ogun Ward- is now

Consequent upon his request, The Oke Ogun Progressive Forum (OPF) has provided a channel through which philanthropists, Well wishers and kind hearted people of the World can help stave off the doom of demoralizing and contribute to bringing back the school into its normal shape.
