Heavy Down Pour Storm Ilorin, Destroyed several Houses
- community cries out, call for government assistance.
Yesterday, it was a rainy experience for people within Ilorin metropolis as rain stormed the city and selectively destroyed several properties. The rainy experience was not favorable.
The SATCOMMEDIA learnt that the rainstorm that occurred on Saturday night also displaced many people at Oke Ogun community, in Edun, Idiagbon community, in Emirs road, Isale-Gambari among other affected areas.
Though no lives were lost in the incident.
An eyewitness from the community affirmed the incident and call on government for assistance, as many people left were devastated with little or without hope of assistance from any quarters.
He however, further stressed that, any assistance for non-governmental organizations would go along way in restoring the lost hope and further placed them back to normal life.













Politics: Olu Onemola resigned as SA New Media to President of the Senate.

The Special Assistant (SA) on New Media to the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Mr. Olu Onemola, who was also the SA to former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has resigned his appointment.

Onemola made his resignation know in an internal memo to Lawan.


Recall that shortly after the current Senate President reappointed Onemola to retain the SA position, controversy followed the decision.

But Onemol, in his resignation letter to Lawan, said he was resigning because of the controversy his reappointment generated.

According to him, “As an individual who prides myself in always setting a high standard and significant precedents I feel honoured to have been asked to fill this vital role in the service of our great country,” he said.

Minimum wage: Labour's reject FG Proposals

The negotiation committee set up by the Federal Government to negotiate the consequential adjustment arising from the  N30,000 new minimum wage has rejected what the government is offering. The committee, which was inaugurated on May 14, has also  failed to meet the four-week deadline  to submit its report. However, members  met twice last week with the enlarged membership collapsed into one technical committee of six members each from both sides. The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, who was appointed as  chairman of the panel, stepped down  for the chairman of the National Wages, Salaries and Income Commission to head  the technical committee. A principal officer of a labour union, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said government’s position on the consequential adjustment had been rejected by  labour representatives in the committee.
